How U.S. foreign aid may hurt rather than help the hungry or poor in third world countries is discussed. Findings show that over-crowded countries have resources necessary for people to free themselves from hunger; per capita food production can increase while at the same time more people go hungry. Myths are presented which prevent us from understanding how we can alleviate world hunger. A number of organizations and publications are listed as sources that can help to go beyond the myths of hunger and to discover effective action for change.
