CAD-CAM in Restorative Dentistry

Computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided management (CAM) have immense potential in the development of restorative dentistry. As the authors of this book write in their preface, it is a means to an end. It allows us to use materials, which we would not otherwise be able to use, to produce a better restoration for the patient. It also reduces the inconvenience and discomfort of multiple visits with intervening laboratory stages - the most desirable aspect is the high quality end-product; - a strong, durable and aesthetic ceramic restoration.
