Concerned first with isolating the philosophical issues underlying the question of the morality of abortion and second with proposing defensible solutions to them, this volume explores the issues surrounding this controversial topic. Defending a liberal position, Tooley argues that questions of abortion, infanticide, and the killing of nonhuman animals must be investigated together and that contradictions in these areas require scientific and philosophical attention.
